Kirsty Hathaway

Executive Creative Director , JOAN London

Prior to launching NY independent agency, JOAN Creative into London as ECD, Kirsty has had a fairly untraditional journey. The first ten years of her career were spent as a fashion editor and stylist at magazines including Vogue and GQ, she credits these roles as instrumental years in honing her craft through working with some of the best creatives and visionaries in the world. An entrepreneurial spirit has been the cornerstone of everything she has touched since. From a sojourn in founding her own award-winning and industry-leading digital content platforms (in a world where digital content was blogs and the odd Facebook post was social) before setting up creative agency, AnalogFolk's successful content and editorial offering in 2014. This path led Kirsty to spearhead Refinery29's international expansion as VP, Creative - building and running the creative department to ensure best in class, relevant and culture led content with brands including Nike, adidas, NARS, Balmain, Gucci, net-a-porter, Amazon Prime Video, MAC and Converse. Under Kirsty's watch, R29 won awards including publisher of the year (UK), best branded content team (UK), and best experiential activation (UK). Since Refinery29 she has since been Chief Creative Officer at mission driven, AllBright and spent time consulting global brands on content, brand building and creating culture led content to drive brand affinity. ‚Ä® Now at JOAN London, Kirsty is passionate about bringing together diversity of thought to create work that stands apart across all platforms and all mediums - because a good idea (and brand, for that matter) is never linear.
