A Korean-born American, Dayoung began her advertising career as a Creative Intern at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami. Throughout her 10 years at CP+B, she rose through the ranks to become a Creative Director/Vice President, overseeing accounts like Nike, VW, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Groupon and Mondelez. Her work on these campaigns garnered numerous awards, including prestigious D&AD Pencils and Cannes Lions. Following her time at CP+B, Dayoung worked at various creative agencies, including Mother London, where she led clients such as Boots Pharmacy and Notonthehighstreet.com. She also spearheaded Mother London's largest global production campaign for Dubai Tourism in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, Dayoung joined VML to lead global accounts like New Balance, Diageo, and Wendy's. Her Wendy's "Camden Makeover" campaign resulted in over 2 billion earned impressions and marked the most successful new store launch in the UK. In 2024, she joined YouTube Creative Studio to lead YouTube's global creative communication initiatives, focusing on the design of YouTube's perspective on the role of social media and technology in our society, scaled across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC.
